Terms & Conditions
Please read these terms carefully before engaging our services. If you have any questions, call us immediately so we can address your concerns.
These Terms and Conditions apply to all work carried out by Exquisite Flooring Perth (ABN available on request). By engaging our services you agree to the following terms.
- 1
Installation standard & warranty
Exquisite Flooring will lay to manufacturer's specifications and Australian standards. Warranty on installation is 2 years as per Australian Consumer Law.
- 2
Product warranty
Warranty is held by the manufacturer of the product.
- 3
Floor preparation
Floor preparation is not included unless specified. Australian standards for vinyl plank, timber, laminate and hybrid flooring require that the substrate be flat, dry, clean, and smooth, with a maximum deviation of 4mm under a 2-metre straight edge (or ±3mm over 3 metres), in accordance with AS/NZS 1884:2021. No floor is completely level and flat even after using self-leveller, but by using self-leveller it will improve the floor and bring it into Australian floor laying standards.
- 4
Power supply
Power must be supplied by the client. If no power is available, the cost of hiring a generator will be added to the balance at the customer's cost.
- 5
Site access
Suitable access must be available, including an undercover area for tools and cutting.
- 6
Furniture removal
Furniture removal is not included. If Exquisite Flooring is required to move furniture, an additional $20 per item will be added to the balance. Exquisite Flooring takes no responsibility for damage to furniture or walls when moving furniture.
- 7
Dust
Dust is common when laying floors and cannot be avoided due to cutting of some products and door frames. We advise you cover all electronic devices, as dust can cause damage to them. We cannot be held responsible for any damage caused by dust.
- 8
Walls & gaps
Walls are never totally square. This can make the product appear as though it is not installed properly. Gapping between the product and the wall will be noticeable in some areas. In most cases a trim — e.g. scotia or skirting — will be recommended to be fitted at an extra cost to the client, if not already included in the invoice.
- 8b
Wall marking during installation
Walls can get marked during the installation process due to tools such as grinders, jimmy bars, and bolsters coming into contact with walls or skirting boards. We take all due care during installation, but sometimes this cannot be avoided and we cannot accept responsibility for any such damage.
- 9
Public liability
Exquisite Flooring is covered by Public Liability insurance to the amount of $20,000,000.
- 10
Payment
Balance must be paid in full on completion.
- 11
Disputes
In the case of any dispute, the client must allow Exquisite Flooring the opportunity to repair the issue, in accordance with Australian Consumer Law.
- 12
Unforeseen floor conditions
If unknown floor conditions arise from unforeseen circumstances — on existing floors or when existing floors are lifted — extra costs will be incurred by the client. This includes floor grinding, additional floor levelling, hire of any tools required to complete the job, or extra labour. Any additional charges will be added to the invoice for the client to pay.
- 13
Doors
Doors are not covered by us. If we are required to remove them to accommodate the new flooring height, we do not refit or shave them down — this is the customer's responsibility to do themselves or to engage a carpenter or door professional. All care is taken when removing doors, but frames often get scratched in the removal process and we cannot be held responsible for this.
- 14
Product or colour changes mid-job
If you are not happy with the product or colour during commencement of the job and wish to change, extra fees will apply. If supply only, restocking costs often apply from suppliers — each supplier has different costs for this. If some product has already been installed, extra costs will apply for the installed product, labour, and any additional preparation required.
- 15
Skirting boards
Skirting boards can be laid by us on request and at extra cost. No floor is completely flat and no walls are completely level. This means there may be gaps between the floor product and skirting boards — this is common and is not a fault in installation. If you have any queries, please ask.
